About the Event

A celebration of community, nature, and healthy living on beautiful Galiano Island, BC.

Organized by the Galiano Trails Society, the Galiano Gallop showcases forest trails, island terrain, and a welcoming race atmosphere. Whether you are chasing a personal best or your first trail finish line, there is a route designed for you.

The event is organized with stewardship in mind, including trail care, participant education, and a low-impact race day footprint.

Registration

  • 6KM & 10KM TRAIL RUN registration closes Friday, September 25th at 12pm. Registration is online. If the race is not sold out by September 25th at 12pm, you will be able to register in person at the Saturday Market at Lions Field on Saturday, September 26th from 10-2pm. Sorry no dogs allowed on 6km & 10km run course.
  • KIDS RUN (1KM) No need to register kids online, they are FREE, but they need to register at one of the package pick ups - Saturday, September 26th from 10-2pm (Saturday Market) or Sunday, September 27th (7:30am-8:30am at Lions Field).
  • WALK/WHEEL/WAG (2KM walk) A NEW event! Everyone welcome! No need to register online, participation is BY DONATION. Dogs are welcome to participate this WWW event.
  • Entry fee discounts will be given to Galiano Trails Society "active" members. If you are not sure if you are a GTS active member, please contact galianotrailssociety@gmail.com before completing your online registration.

Travel and Logistics

Ferry travel planning is essential for race weekend. Participants should book early and allow extra travel time.

There is free parking in the Galiano Lions Hall parking lot located off Burrill Rd. Please take care not to block exits, roadways or park in ambulance parking spot. Please no parking along Bluff Rd.

Accommodation can be challenging on Galiano, especially on race weekend. Book early to avoid disappointment. A few options are: Galiano Oceanfront Inn & Spa, Driftwood Village Cottages and Bodega Ridge & Bodega Cove Resort. Camping option: Montague Harbour Marine Park campground. You can also find several different vacation rentals online.
